Paper accepted at ASPLOS 2016.
UNIST CSE graduate students, Wook-Hee Kim, Jinwoong Kim, professor Woongki Baek, and professor Beomseok Nam (corresponding author)’s paper “NVWAL: Exploiting NVRAM in Write-Ahead-Logging” was accepted for publication at ASPLOS 2016. This work exploits emerging non-volatile memory for embedded database systems, and the authors designed a novel efficient recovery method that makes DB transactions insensitive to the latency of non-volatile memory.
ASPLOS is a top tier CS conference for multi-disciplinary research that spans across computer architecture, compilers, and operating systems. This year, ASPLOS accepted only two papers submitted from Korean universities, and the other paper is also from another UNIST system research lab led by prof. Young-ri Choi.
